Why live in Dunsfold?
Dunsfold has a rural feel while being conveniently close to the amenities of Cranleigh and Godalming. The village, much of it in a conservation area, stretches along a village green, common and cricket green, interspersed with several ponds, where swans and ducks nest. The 13th century Grade I listed St Mary’s and All Saints Church is behind the village at Church Green. Dunsfold has a post office and community shop/café and a 400-year-old pub, The Sun Inn. There’s a cricket club on the green behind the war memorial and a tennis club based at King George V recreation ground.
The village has a strong community spirit, with various clubs and societies including the Dunsfold Amateur Dramatics Society (DADS), horticultural society and bonfire committee, which organises the annual Guy Fawkes celebrations. There’s also an annual village fete on the common. The village’s Winn Hall hosts a number of events and activities including yoga and Pilates.
Transport
The 42 bus between Ewhurst/Cranleigh and Guildford via Godalming runs through the village. The nearest stations are at Witley, Milford or Godalming, connecting to Guildford, Haslemere and beyond.
Schools
The nearest state primary schools are St Mary’s CofE in Chiddingfold or Plaistow & Kirdford Primary; state secondary schools are Glebelands in Cranleigh or Rodborough in Milford. Godalming Sixth Form College is nearby and there are several independent options, from Cranleigh School to Charterhouse in Godalming.
