The beauty spot of Pitch Hill is a short climb away, with bridleways, bike trails and paths across to Holmbury, Leith Hill and Winterfold. As well as easy access to stunning countryside, the amenities of nearby Cranleigh, as well as Dorking, Horsham and Guildford, are also nearby.
The Street is the main village thoroughfare, where there’s Hazelbank Country Stores for everyday provisions. The village has two churches, a village hall, social club, recreation ground, bowling club and newly refurbished pub The Bull’s Head Inn. At the other end of the village, cricket is played on Ewhurst Green.
Transport
Buses run from Guildford to Horsham via Cranleigh and Ewhurst. The nearest train stations are in Gomshall and Ockley.
Schools
Ewhurst CofE Infant School and independent Duke of Kent School are both located in the village. Primary schools in Cranleigh include Park Mead, Cuthbert Mayne and Cranleigh Church CofE, while Glebelands is the nearest secondary school. Private options include Cranleigh School and Hurtwood House (Sixth Form).
