Why live in Gomshall?
Gomshall, roughly midway between Guildford and Dorking, is a quaint Surrey Hills village that is highly sought-after thanks to its beautiful cottages and pretty countryside, and the fact that it’s a short hop across the fields from its picturesque neighbour, Shere. There are two lovely pubs here, the recently refurbished Gomshall Mill on the River Tillingbourne, and The Compasses Inn. Both have riverside gardens which are popular with visitors in summer. Gomshall also has a post office and shop, coffee bar and antique furniture shop.
Transport
Buses run through Gomshall to Guildford and Horsham via Dorking. Gomshall Station offers connecting services to London Waterloo via Guildford or to London Victoria via Dorking.
Schools
Shere CofE Aided Infant School is close by, primary schools include Tillingbourne Junior in Chilworth and Boxgrove Primary and Bushy Hill Junior schools in Merrow. Secondary schools include The Ashcombe in Dorking, The Howard of Effingham in Effingham and George Abbot and Guildford High School in Guildford.
