Hascombe
Why live in Hascombe?
This beautiful little village in the Surrey Hills AONB is surrounded by densely wooded hills and retains an air of being remote and secluded, even though it’s a stone’s throw from Godalming. The village boasts many pretty period cottages and larger country homes and has a charming parish church, Grade II listed St Peter’s, which was rebuilt during the Victorian period. Opposite the church is duck pond and green, while in the centre of the village is the cricket green, village hall and a fountain fed by a natural fresh-water spring.
The White Horse pub is a popular spot for an evening drink to enjoy the views on a summer’s evening.
Hascombe Hill, above the village, is the site of an ancient hillfort and there are plenty of peaceful and scenic walks to enjoy.
Transport
The 42 bus runs through the village, between Guildford and Ewhurst/Cranleigh.
