Rudgwick
Why live in Rudgwick?
Rudgwick is a quintessential English village in West Sussex, near the Surrey border, that is deservedly popular thanks to the stunning rolling countryside that surrounds it and good links to nearby towns. The village centre boasts many attractive period properties and as the popularity of the village has grown, new developments have been carefully incorporated to help preserve its character and picturesque setting.
Rudgwick has all the essentials – a grocery shop, post office, GP surgery, pharmacy and The King’s Head pub, which is just outside the 12th-century Holy Trinity Church. The popular Fox Inn country pub is also nearby. Dog walkers and cyclists often head for The Milk Churn, a coffee shop/café right next to the Downs Link path and cycle way linking Guildford to Shoreham. The village has a cricket club, tennis club and football club, while Slinfold Golf & Country Club is a 10-minute drive away.
Transport
There are buses to/from Guildford and Horsham via Ewhurst/Cranleigh. Mainline trains to London are available in nearby Horsham (6 miles) or Guildford (12 miles).
Schools
There’s Rudgwick Primary School in the village, as well as independent prep school Pennthorpe. The Weald is a well thought-of secondary in Billingshurst and there are many private schools in the area.
