It’s not long now until the big day! And Cranleigh has come to life looking lovely as it does at this time of year. We’re proud to be one of the many sponsors annually supporting the Christmas lights as it makes for such a wonderful sight.
The stunning tree in the centre of the village which is provided by the local Christmas tree farm Hans Christmas Anderson really sets the scene too, and if you haven’t bought your tree yet they are open until Christmas Eve.
In the local Surrey/Sussex area there are still lots of highlights to enjoy in the build-up to Christmas bringing lots of cheer for all the family! Here are just some of the places and events you might want to head to over the next couple of weeks
We’re so lucky to have a thriving arts centre in Cranleigh and the lineup, all the way until the 22nd of December, looks brilliant. There really is something for everyone, from a wide variety of live music to children’s events and plays.
The Richard Onslow in Cranleigh has a whole host of events going on in December and into the New Year, but it’s Christmas Carols have become a firm fixture for many now. Happening on the 22nd of December this year, grab yourself a drink, wrap and warm and join a friendly crowd outside of the pub to sing all of the classic carols with all the family.
A new addition to the village Knowle Park is now hosting Cranleigh Park Run if you fancy burning off those mince pies, and for younger visitors, there is the Knowle Park Jingle Bell Journey.
If you’re looking to venture further afield, Petworth House has a number of events running and is opening late to let visitors experience the lights and amazing trees within the house. Winkworth Arboretum has a winter welly wonder too. And if a light spectacular is an annual family event why not try Leonardslee Illuminations on the outskirts of Horsham this year?
For many a trip to the Panto signals the start of the festivities and Horsham and Guildford both have Panto’s running this year.
We hope we’ve given you some ideas, especially if you have only recently moved to the area of some great ways of spending time with family and friends this December in Cranleigh and the surrounding area.
From all the team at Roger Coupe, we’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the Christmas Season and for the New Year ahead.
